Quilts can last
for generations
when cared for
properly.
Care Instructions
Quilts can be either hand-washed or machine-washed. To preserve your quilt for as long as possible, I recommend the hand-washing method.
Keep in mind that excessive washing may cause your quilt to fade and deteriorate more quickly. Wash your quilt only when necessary.
Washing your Quilt
The Hand Washing Method
Wash in the bathtub with mild dye-free soap
Rinse thoroughly
Roll and press in towels to remove excess water
Lay flat or hang on a clothes line to dry
The Machine Washing Method
Wash with cold water on a delicate cycle
Use a mild, dye free detergent
Lay flat or drape over a clothes line to dry
To avoid excessive wear and tear on your quilt , you can vacuum a quilt in between washes to remove lint, particles and pet dander.
Use the vacuum extension hose found on any household vacuum. Wrap pantyhose or cheesecloth around the mouth of the hose to ensure that the quilt stays clean from vacuum debris.

Storing Your Quilt
When storing away your quilt for the season, try to follow these important tips:
Avoid folding the quilt along any main seams as this can cause tension on the threads
Fold differently ever time you store your quilt to avoid permanent creasing
Do not store in plastic bins as these can emit acid and discolor or damage your quilt.
And finally, if you ever have problems with a Good Witch Quilt, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I will gladly guide you through the problem, and if it requires, do any repairs on your quilt free of charge.
